The backbone and compass for my practice is rooted in the teachings of the ancient healing system of Ayurveda. A 5,000 year old system of medicine from ancient India. Ayurveda looks to nature for medicine, through food & herbs, and for guidance as the natural world teaches us how to adapt to the cycles of our own life.

HOlistic healing

Living Ayurveda Hawai’i is rooted in the philosophy of holistic healing. This approach applies awareness of the physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual aspects of each individual person.

Simply stated- I treat the whole person, not just their physical body.

Often times disease begins because there is an excess of outward expectation and a deficiency of inward reflection.

The Ayurvedic approach to healing begins first by making you a priority in your own life.

Most of us desperately lack quiet time, self-care, rejuvenation and self-reflection.  We need to re-learn boundaries taking time to log off, unwind, decelerate, look inward, calm the mind and cultivate inner peace. This practice is how we cultivate the skills to quiet the loud chatter of the ego (the mind) and create space to tune in to the whispers of our soul (our consciousness). This is how we step into the truest version of ourselves, with harmony, purpose and peace.

Creating Balance

Using the philosophy of Ayurvedic healing begins first by assessing one’s own personal natural state of balance. This is known as the constitution (prakruti) which is as unique as your own thumb print. I like to call this it your “home-base”. Next I identify your current state of imbalance (vikruti). I look for clues to find out what is the nature the symptoms you are experiencing. Then, through inquiry, I can begin to uncover the deep-rooted tendencies and patterns that are the underlying cause of these imbalances.

Creating an individualized

Treatment Plan

Collectively these findings weave a detailed picture of you from which I create a road map for healing. Realigning you back towards our own “home-base”, an optimally functioning physical body and a peaceful state of mind. With the awareness of the imbalances, tendencies and patterns we can then begin to implement a plan supported by small & gradual, but consistent recommendations.

I create a strong treatment plan with focusing on structure, routine and ritual.

Bringing in simple yet harmonious practices that fill you on a soul level and create stability within your life. When creating an individualized treatment plan I evaluate the following:

  • How does a person begin and end their day?

  • What foods are in their diet that are further contributing their imbalances?

  • What does their current lifestyle look like & what lifestyle practices could we work in to bring more peace & balance?

  • What herbs could help support the patient on their healing journey?

Ayurveda teaches that what we do everyday has a profound impact on our health.

These recommendations are then given slowly, to gradually integrate these changes of routines, diet & lifestyle. Customized herbal formulas are also created in the form of capsules, medicated oils, tinctures, salves & medicinal spice blends.

subtle healing modalities

After the foundational elements of a balanced diet & lifestyle are rooted into the patients life we can then integrate more subtle but equally important healing modalities to fine tune growth & elevation of consciousness. These subtle healing modalities include:

  • Pranayama (breathing techniques)

  • Meditation

  • Yoga Nidra

  • Affirmation

  • Color Therapy

  • Sound Therapy

  • Aromatherapy

  • Mantra

This expansive approach brings our Spirit to a peaceful state one never knew possible.
